Christine Goodall, Consultant Oral Surgeon
Dr Christine Goodall is an academic oral surgeon who works as a senior lecturer at Glasgow University. She has worked in hospitals around Glasgow for the past 16 years and dealt with many victims of violence. Violence and alcohol are the main focus of her research and she works in partnership with St Andrew's University where she is an honorary senior research fellow. She was awarded an Honorary Membership of the Faculty of Public Health in 2013 for her work in violence prevention. 

 

Mark Devlin, Consultant Cleft and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Mark Devlin is a consultant cleft and maxillofacial surgeon whose main focus is treating children born with cleft lip and palate, he also regularly treats patients with facial trauma.

 

 

David Koppel, Consultant Craniofacial & Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr David Koppel is a consultant craniofacial surgeon whose primary interest is facial deformity, he is the Lead Clinician of the Regional Maxillofacial Unit in the West of Scotland which deals with over 1000 facial trauma patients annually.

 

 Karyn McCluskey, Director, VRU
Karyn McCluskey is Director of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit . She was previously the Principal Intelligence Analyst with Strathclyde police. She trained as a Registered Nurse and later in Forensic Psychology. She has worked for a number of police forces in England within intelligence and joined Strathclyde in 2002. Until 2005 she was head of intelligence analysis with responsibility for over 80 intelligence analysts. Karyn was awarded  Fellowship  of the Faculty of Pulblic Health by Distinction because of her ground breaking work in Violence Prevention.

 

Dr Michael Murray,  Consultant Neuroanaesthetist at the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow. Has been a very active member of MAV since we launched in 2008 and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.

 

John Carnochan QPM OBE A former Detective Chief Superintendent with Strathclyde Police until 2012 John was Director of the Violence Reduction Unit. John's distinguished police service spanned everything from homicide to hostage negotiaton but he spent his last 10 years in the force trying to prevent violence. The VRU which he set up with Karyn is recognised worldwide. Now retired (but not really) John is a knowledge exchage fellow working with St Andrew's Univerity. He is a holder of the QPM and earlier this year was awarded an OBE. John is also a fellow by distinction of the Faculty of Public Health.
